I was born and raised in California, and I purchased by first Cornish Rex in April 1988, while living in Long Beach, CA. She was a small black and white female, with big ears and what we call a “suede”, meaning that she only had fuzz, not the curly coat that the Cornish is noted for.

Maggie, was just the beginning. Two weeks after I got Maggie, I went back and bought her brother, Andy. Even though Andy was sold as pet quality, I called the breeder and told her that I was interested in showing him. She helped me enter him in a local CFA show and went with me. Andy didn’t do much, except get his “winner’s ribbons” and become a “Premier”, but I enjoyed it, and decided to see if I could find a female that I could show and breed. After getting Troy, I needed a male and my foundation male, Boitano, came to live with me. I haven’t looked back.

My cattery is small. I want to produce not only beautiful Cornish Rex, but health, sociable, good temper, well adjusted cats. The Cornish Rex litters are small, the average size litter is only three kittens. I have only one or two litters a year, and if a buyer wants only a certain color, they may have to wait awhile. The kittens are born and raised in my bedroom. At ten weeks they are allowed to see the world and meet the other cats that live in the house.

I spay or neutered the kittens before they are placed. All the kittens have their shots, including rabies, and have been checked out by a vet before placing. I guarantee the health of the kittens, when they leave home.

I place my “retired” show and breeding cats, usually before they are five years old. So I sometimes have older cats that are looking for a home, as well as kittens.None of the kittens or cats that I place are allowed to go outside. They are to be inside cats only.

Any prospective buyer is welcome to come and visit my home and the cats, and I recommend, that if at all possible, you do come and visit.
